I have run a BB7 with compressionless when I had Bullhorns and a disc fork on my cross-check (don't ask...)
Stopping power was great, though it was a constant faff to set it up correctly and it squealed like hell in almost every situation.
On the current bike I run the cheapest Deore flatbar hydraulic disc and it has been there for 1,5 years, doesn't squeal, has decent stopping power and has been adjusted exactly once, when installed.

Something similarly simple would be great.
