46 10 spins out about 45 mph or something

True, I hit the scales at a mighty 79Kg this morning, those scales stayed hit.

Don't think the weight have anything to do with descending faster IMO.

Would 52/11 give much more top end?
-
• #4181
Probably not enough to spoil the fun

I love discussions about 'gearing limitations' on a fixed gear/singlespeed forum :-D

Yep 46/10 is plenty. Do it. Plus that XD cassette doesent weight a tonne either!
SiSl with absolute black would look great but 9000/6800 with woftooth means you can stay all shimano (esp for pioneer).
If you are ordering wofltooth, I'd be keen to share shipping.

Can't be any worse than grown men talking about how fast and powerful their cars is on here.

Dunno Ed. That thread's on my ignore list :-)

So you haven't seen Dammit's volvo then?

I'll upload the PSD file on Monday - currently have zero time for pushing pixels.
Although, I am feeling the urge to add gold rings, strada bianca tyres and the enve rims...
-
• #4189
I'd have to ignore the entire internet to not see that.

I am a fan of the gold rings, they are a very manly 53/39 however- which given I wish to climb Zoncolan on this bike means they'll likely not get used.
Unless I end up with an 11-36 cassette I guess.
-
• #4191
11-36 cassette will instantly take away the 'manly' aesthetic no?
googles 50/34 gold chain rings

Sobbing helplessly in an Italian ditch does that quite effectively also.

22% slope means I like the idea of this: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/sram-xx1-11-speed-cassette/

I am thinking SiSl2's with a P2M spider and a Wolfstooth/similar 46T ring.
I could use a gold chain for Cipo points.

My 11-32 XX cassette was lighter than my 11-28 Dura Ace, beautiful object also.

Finally finished my CAAD10 disc! Although I want to change the bars, seatpost and saddle soon, that's just what I had spare.
For reference, anyone going the conversion/non BB30 route. The ONLY screw in adapter/converter that I tried that fits in to the BB shell without the cables getting in the way is the Rotor one.
Praxis and Wheels Mfg options won't fit without serious tampering to the cable guide.

Including the Wheel Manufacturing BB30 to 24mm spindle shim too?
46/10 isn't a small gear, and the downhill side of Zoncolan is mainly suited to an aero tuck/hard on the brakes/out of the saddle from the turn/tuck/repeat
