I see your point if another fork is much cheaper but the one you mentioned seemed quite costly. Even with an Air fork you will not have a Tommasini frameset only a Tommasini frame with another fork. You could get a Ford Mondeo engine to fit into your E-type lightweight but it will not be a classed as a real Jaguar.
The fork is a large part of the frame. And those Air ones don't even look right.

You say it'll be a special one off fork however really it is something that I can get make from any frame builder for much less without the pantographs.
For me, being able to get a proper Columbus air fork is more special as I know that not anyone can just knock one out. And I also know that the frame was originally intended to be used with an air fork
