Hi,
I am halfway through changing the rear wheel on my old Ribble. Its an old 853 steel bike with a campag chorus 9 speed group.
I've removed the cassette from the old wheel to put on the new, put it on the new one and the clearance between the outside of the cassette and the inside of the dropout is minute. Sure enough if I attempt to get the chain on the smallest rear everything fouls up.
Is there a compatibility issue here? The splines seem the same length, and the casette seems to fit, but the positioning of the axle seems slightly different, the locknut on the old wheel seems to protrude further from the cassette (and protrude less on the non-drive side...)
Am I missing something?
George
