Bump! Lovely bikes and great price. I have an Asolo, throughly recommend this.

Thanks! FYI I'm not going to drop the price any further than this. I think it's now a proper steal.

very tempted. May be a daft question, but how do you know its a 1984 frame?
-
• #15
Its got a sticker on it to coincide with the 1984 olympics. I'm sure it's z replica of the time (as opposed to an actual Olympic Team machine) but these frames are in early - mid 80s catalogues. Here's the pic again:

Cannot believe this hasn't sold. Insane bargain at this price.

I'd buy it but I already have one. In red. White's cooler.

"I've already got 4", "I've got a red one" these are all just delaying tactics really. You all know it makes sense! Red one needs a stable buddy and 4 + 1 = happiness to the power of amaze!

BIKE SOLD. THREAD ENDS.
Hello all
I'm selling my Pinarello Asolo. Bought on this forum 6 years ago, much loved, well ridden although just not ridden enough of late. Time for it to find a new home.
Pinarello Asolo in Pearl White Columbus Cromor Steel Frame and Forks. 53cm cc.
105 Hubs on Open Pro rims (I think) with plenty of miles left in them. Almost new Rubino Pro tyres. 700x23c.
Beautiful engraved 3ttt Pinarello stem.
600 Tri colour Cranks, pedals, front and rear shifters. In used condition.
600 Brakes, leavers and shifters. In good nick but the brake levers are scuffed.
600 Seatpost. Scuffs etc.
Nitto bars in excellent condition with fresh S Wrap cork tape.
Campag Record Headset.
Titanium Flite saddle with a light scuff to rear.
What else do you need to know?
Well 80s Asolos are famous for having no top coat and losing their decals. This is no exception. I've ridden it and washed it over and over again and so it's missing some of the original stickers as you can see. There are also chips in the paint and scuffs but absolutely no dings or dents anywhere to be seen. As I say I've ridden it but I loved it too. As you can see the group set is not consistently the same type of 600. Some is Tri some later.
This is a genuinely lovely ride. It's nimble and smooth. It's ready to go. I always thought I might swap out the group for something more contemporary but just enjoyed it as it was. If you must convert it, please be gentle! No hacksaws! And replacing the stem should be illegal right?
I bought it for five fifty. It was frankly immaculate back then. SOLD for £370. I will throw in a retro, wire bottle cage and also some Shimano SPD touring style pedals should you need them. Viewing and pick up in Leyton please. I will of course make another donation to the forum. Photos below...
Dibs on here but the first to collect wins.
