Yes - Hillary could well get arrested, in which case all bets are off. Trump draws most of his support from outside the 'conservative movement', who fear he will destroy the Republican party as currently configured.

The assassination comment was tongue in cheek, but when you have managed to enrage everyone from the republican establishment, to big money, to ethnic minorities, to Christian and Muslim fundamentalists, you have a lot of enemies and a target on your back. My bets are the CIA will see him off.

Trumps appeal is bipartisan. He's not a Republican. Also I'm pretty sure that the voting pro-gun population is relatively small. I'll try and find the stats, but [I think] the majority favour gun legislation. A bit like wealth, the majority of guns are owned by a minority of the population.

Trump will get a lot of collar Democrat support (he appeals to the man in the bar) but Hilary will get significant support from Republicans appalled at the idea of Drumpf as the POTUS.

Only good (sorta) news is that if the Trumpster does get in he'll be unable to get anything done anyway, it will be a lame duck presidency from day one as all the Democrats and most of the Republicans will oppose him at every turn. He's hated by every established politico out there because he's changed the rules of the modern US game and it scares every one of them.
