Bill lied under oath and everyone just said, "Yeh but all politicians lie and get blowies. So what?"
Trumps appeal is bipartisan. He's not a Republican. Also I'm pretty sure that the voting pro-gun population is relatively small. I'll try and find the stats, but [I think] the majority favour gun legislation. A bit like wealth, the majority of guns are owned by a minority of the population.
