the other issue is the exit from chainstay to caliper. the barrel adjuster on the TRP seems to be at a stupid angle and wont comply well with 140mm rotor (pictures a few pages back). Overall @Dammit and @spotter talked me round to full hydro, makes a lot of sense and will be far superior to the "compromise" setup of bendy cable

Indeed
I'll probably go that way myself eventually.
Although after the last few rides I'm absolutely loving how mines ended up!

I am really itching to ride it, extremely annoyed, never had so much faf setting up a bike. bike discount have dispatched the brakes and I have booked it in for bleeding/swearing at a cannondale retailer in Bristol next week. looking forward to full hydro - endless stoppies (maybe it will be ready for my trip to mallorca :--) )

Bleeding them is piss easy and a joy really. Takes all of 15mins and a prayer of thanks to the Shimano gods! Hydro all the way. You sticking to 140 rotors?
@Dick Couldn't find a caad10 hanging around unfortunately. More than welcome to drop by if you're ever in central to see how they might fit yours.

Is that Spain? Mallorca?
-
• #4110
really is it that easy? I have heard other things.. what about cutting the cables?
-
• #4111
any use?
-
• #4112
So long as you have the right barb and olive type (which if you buy boxed, should come with) cut cable at lever, then it's literally syringe below and funnel at the master cylinder, pump fluid upwards, no more bubbles? Hey presto. Same principle as most of Shimano's MTB range. Glorious compared to SRAM's offering.

if it really is that easy I might give it a go myself. i have bled the SLX brakes on my 29er

Forks can't be faced, Park Tool fouls carbon, replacement being organised... what a saga

• #4115
Someone on WW doin it right
-
• #4116
they have fucking short legs!
-
• #4117
because lighter
-
• #4118
Surely it would be lighter if they slammed the stem??? Although I guess they are balancing that weight saving by having a very short seatpost
-
• #4119
by 'right' I mean dura ace
-
• #4120
how do I get a job whereby I can start posting on WW? oh cool this frame is super cheap lets spend 2k fitting it out...
-
• #4121
Media in E1
-
• #4122
Throwing expensive parts at an ill fitting frame is not doing it right!
-
• #4123
But DA!
JK LOL
I'd do that tbh, my justification would be
I've saved on the frame might as well spend on groupset/parts. If only it wasn't a 3 year old frame in almost daily evolving disc sceneDA. -
• #4124
But just put DA on hi mod synapse.

haha fuck. if I have to go to shimano crankset I am going to be so pissed off. hydro cables are largely plastic, surely malleable enough to contort perfectly through the BB and avoid the 30mm spindle
Just use a normal brake cable housing?!!?!
I don't see how this has got so complicated!!?!
