PDW won't fit 43s; they only just fit 35!

Just got some of the SKS Velo 42 for my new ride. Love them. Piece of piss to install, cheap, work a treat. No stays and they stay in place fine.

how do they not wobble?
-
• #2232
They do. A lot. I binned mine.

The back one does a bit, but not enough to worry me, and stays inline enough to work. I might get the optional stays for the rear, but mainly so it follows the line of the wheel, an aesthetic thing really.
Front one is solid.

Sorry for the late reply but what's that front rack? Looks really nice; I am looking for something similar.

Can you post a photo of the mudguard attachment at the chainstay bridge. I'm thinking of getting wider tyres and guards, but am worried the wide guard won't fit here. On my Pompino a 35 mm SKS Chromoplastic completely fills the gap between the chainstays.

Thanks.

Do you have a v4 or the earlier one with the wishbone stay? At least on my Pompetamine, the wishbone has stacks of room available, width-wise
-
• #2239
It's a v3 I believe with the wishbone stay. Between the chainstays I can't see a wider 'guard fitting unless it tapers there. I'll post a photo later.

Ohhhh, chainstay. Misread. Yeah, the wider GB guards may need to be tapered with a hacksaw or a dremel, had to do it for my rack bike. 5 minute job, more if you be really neat about it or roll the cut edges back over. I'll grab a pic

Excellent thanks for the photo. Now an excuse to purchase a Dremel. Nice looking paint job by the way. Where did you get that done?

It's the factory paint! 1990 Kuwahara Cheetah

Richard @ Raw Mudguards is making me a set of flaps for the large size of Chromoplastics. Will post pics when they arrive (will be their first pair sold for this size of guard).

Very wet roads yesterday afternoon revealed a function flaw in my home-made mud flap. It was preventing backsplash, hence keeping the BB area clean, but with lots of surface water the turbulence around the flap/guard interface area was still making my feet wet. So I've added a strut (5" section of coat hanger plus more electrical tape) to bring it closer to the front wheel and away from my toes. Will report back after the next wet ride.

Purchased a planet x pro carbon with no eyelets. How would I be mounting my PDW's to it?

• #2249
They come with QR adapters
