I've been lurking on this thread for awhile and decided to finally post something of my own.
My daily-commuter-functional-bike used to be a Surly Steamroller with 35c Marathons, Nitto Dove bars, and fenders attached with zip ties and string. Served me well for years, and still does, but last year I decided to get a proper utility bike, something with grocery haul cargo capacity, dyno lights, etc. Was thinking of a full-on cargo bike like a Big Dummy or a Bullitt, but they're big bikes and apart from not having anywhere to park them I had doubts about how much I would actually make use of the cargo capacity.
So I ended up getting a 26" Disc Trucker. It's about three or four times as heavy as the lightest bike I own, but almost certainly my favourite. I really like it.
Spec highlights:
Nitto Albatross bars
Nitto M1 rack w/Wald basket
VO Zeppelin fenders
Brooks C17
2.15" Big Apples
SP dynamo w/Supernova E3 light + tail light
Shimano SLX hydro brakes
