The stock cooler is guaranteed to be sufficient for that processor, otherwise what's the point!
As long as you applied the thermal paste correctly, which it sounds like you have by those numbers, it's all gravy.Some of the massive heat sinks have back-plates IIRC to stop them from flexing the mobo too much.
Just keep an eye on it and blast any dust bunnies that block the cooling fins over time.

Lookgn at aftermarket coolers, do they require a plate on the other side of the MOBO too? Not a chance in hell i'm taking things apart that much, not even sure i'll have the room...
