  • The ascent was frozen. And descending very muddy.

yeah sorry dude, the onesie has an oddly placed hole doesn't it , do you reckon i've got it on back da front ?

  • Lights fine with me

Some questions from the new boy if that's OK -
Is this likely to be a weekend or a weekday?
What might a rough start time be?

  • Weekday starts would be after 7:30, this would enable people to get a train from Liverpool Street.

  • Not sure what days yet, but yes, got to take the trains into account on weekdays, for those travelling up that way.

Not thinking of doing this until the second half of April, by which time sunset will be around 8pm anyway.

  • It'll be dark in them there woods quite a bit earlier than that though (I'm fine with that though)

7.30pm works OK for me, the later the better. Best scenario is that I go home and drive over in the car with the bike, might be unlikely though given what time I'd need to leave work to do that.

More likely that I cycle there from work, maybe train it, and cycle home afterwards

How angry are Liverpool Street evening commuters? Do they get upset with a muddy bike on the train when they're trying to go home?

Surely you'd be travelling back into London with your muddy bike, while 99.9% of the commuters would be going in the opposite direction?

  • It's the people going into town, wearing their finest evening-wear that you have to cover in mud.

  • Fine, just avoid the carriages near the front.

(That's where I sit when not riding in).

  • Stop wearing white jeans at work.

  • Looks around the office and wonders which of the various indoor shrubs is spying for BN.

  • Be careful with that ketchup....
