  • Apparently the jury is out, but 9spd chainrings will 'probably' work fine in a 10spd drivetrain..

Let me know what you'd like for the stuff you found in the bin, Howard.

  • Keen to know what you go for and how you get on.

  • Me too! If no one has any other ideas I may just buy that one up on Monday.

  • It was cold but didn't notice as the riding was so good. Revolution is what a proper downhill bike park looks like.
    It was so fucking good.

  • They are quite short but work quite well.

  • Nice ride yesterday. 20 miles 2000 feet climbing Nürburgring trail. Climbing on compacted snow mostly from Bergwerk to Hohe Acht track snow covered zero cars. Döttinger Höhe two vans on the track, two dog walkers. Nice view.

  • Very nice!

  • Then it became nicely muddy with massive puddles. Had got better at dealing with the ridges. Four walkers on the track at Flughafen and two more before Fuchsröhre. 10% downhill on a mud trail where the last visitors were massive logging vehicles. No this went right to the little stream and I have to climb out of this again, it was supposed to be all downhill.

Trail then disintegrated into wild boar digging field followed by a stretch of jungle but Garmin said this is it.

  • Fat burning seems to still be working no drinks and food for three hours.

  • I've got the TMARs, Dom has the RST. Both fairly similar to be honest. One thing I'd check is what cable the RST takes. The TMARS takes what seems to be a gear cable with a slightly smaller head, which makes a 2 minute cable replacement job a 15 minute cable replacement with continuous filing and rechecking the fit job.

  • How long would it take to ever so slightly drill out the hole for the cable end?

  • I had a nice mooch down to epping from bishops Stortford yesterday....all was going swimmingly, till on the way home, a gate to stop cows getting onto the towpath swung back a bit quickly....it glanced my rim, gouging it, before the little pointy bit of metal punched through the sidewall of my tyre.
    Sidewalls don't seal.

    Bugger....
A leisurely stroll for about 2 miles whilst I phoned around for a lift. Oh, but it was cold!

  • Not long at all, though the part was pretty full of grease and couldn't be bothered degreasing, drilling and regreasing.

  • I nearly had a leisurely stroll around gisburn this evening in the dark with no lights when i went for a quick pre-dark blast, luckily the slow puncture held out until the end with a little bit of air every 10 mins or so.

  • Went to Swinley with Soho Bikes on Sunday - value of teh crabonz in the carriage was around the £20k mark. I shit you not.

  • I also had crabonz, no excuse.

  • Testing out the new demo Hightowers before Indra gets his hands on them?

  • Them and some super shiny Nomads

  • hmmmm crabonz......

  • "Budget AM build".

  • Just drooling.

My far less refined build might get RaceFace Turbine cranks. I kinda like the spiderless design and they seem to offer the best 'bang for buck'.

    Better options?

  • Just booked a week with these guys in July http://www.basquemtb.com

The riding and food is meant to be amazing!

  • A gravity assisted mountain bike holiday offering the best riding in the Spanish Pyrenees. Five different locations, giving over 10,000m of challenging descending on perfect, natural trails.
