  • Planning to watch Flanders this year, thinking of heading to oude kwaremont as they're going over it 3 times, and it's 100th edition, so should hopefully be pretty riotous.

Anyone know if there will be a big screen near there?

  • Yeah good idea.

I need to get my map out and have a plan really. Should be very feasible to see it a few times, as you say. Just a case of planning!

  • There's usually one in the square in Kwaremont village. It gets absolutely rammed though.

  • Good to know - thanks

  • Ha! I've been slowly watching it all, there's some good stuff. Unfortunately it keeps recording the same Incycle episodes over and over again even though it's set to New Only.

  • Yeah...I did Arrenberg then the velodrome (2 years ago), and just the velodrome (last year)...Both great experiences, and could have even squeezed in the motorway spot between Arerenberg and the velodrome that year.

Tbh Arrenberg then the velodrome is very doable and you get a massive screen in the velodrome for the finale so would recommend. Understand that downtown Roubaix is closed road central so assume you'll be able to get 2 miles from the velodrome and do the 40 minute walk and get a spot.

  • Congleton to Tatton Park - might get up for that.

  • I wish people would stop calling it Cheshire East as if it's a proper county.

  • I wish people would stop calling it Cheshire East, as it's proper cunty.

    Tell me about it...

  • Anyone subscribe to Cycling.TV? What's the coverage like? It's not too expensive, but for what they show... I'm a bit torn.

    edit...

    N/m - just read this:

LIVE, AS-LIVE and HIGHLIGHTS all only available to USA and Canada

    Pirate feeds it is.

  • Many years ago, cycled over to see Ballerini win. We went to the veldrome - the atmosphere was unbelievable, as the tv helicopter away in the distance over the head of the race approaches your heart rate goes up. When the lead rider comes in the noise is off the scale - like some sort of gladatorial stadium where everyones on lsd.
Fair play, it's probably not as pure as watching in the forest ( and they probably charge these days ) but I felt like a muslim in Mecca.
For lots of us Roubaix is top of the list - even remembering the look on Franco's face when he realised he won brings a tear to my eye.

  • Yeah sounds immense.

Wonder if I could do a cobbled sector then get to the velodrom for finish.
Should be possible on the Moto.

  • Don't, big waste of money.

  • Fair play, it's probably not as pure as watching in the forest ( and they probably charge these days )

Arenberg? They don't charge, no, and there's a massive party afterwards. You can rock up about an hour before they come through and still get a great spot if you don't mind a 40 minute walk from your car.

  • Very laggy for me, the cyclinghub stream is way better. Not in Dutch, though: http://cyclinghub.tv/livestream

  • Ugh. Omloop not on Eurosport Player - what do I pay for this thing for?

  • ^ better in every way haha, thanks

  • Squash, plenty of squash.

  • Armistead wins the women's Omloop in the rainbow stripes!

    Also House in the break

  • That's Armitstead with a 100% record as world champion. Strong start.

Luke Rowe ripping it up at the moment.

  • Sagan gets across on his own, no Ettixx rider in the front group so I'm expecting them to chase.

  • With Katusha, presumably.

  • Benoot vs Etusha.
