He [Gruby] sold me a Nitto 125AA 380mm bar, arrived bent and he has since ignored me. I stupidly opted to pay by personal paypal transfer, thinking that because he'd been on here so long and hadn't seen any negative feedback.

@Gruby I just thought that given your experience with fresh slate, you'd have a little more understanding that 'shit happens'.

How many times..?
Unless you (or someone you know) has traded with someone, or they're new here either DON'T trade with them or if you must have a particular item then take it on the chin and agree to split the paypal costs.
Did you see if they feature at all in the Good Traders thread?

These obviously need re-posting:

I would like to know about bad traders on LFGSS.This shouldn't apply to those who don't respond to you instantly... you may just be being impatient and sellers have lives too.
And if something goes wrong, you should give them the chance to correct it in any reasonable way.
Assumptions for buyers: Unless you used PayPal to specify you were purchasing goods... you should accept the risk.
Assumptions for sellers: Unless you ship recorded delivery... you might lose your item and money. Don't ever expect someone to 'gift' payment.
LFGSS always recommends in-person exchanges over postal for items sold through classifieds.
Anyhow... if anyone has consistently shown bad service, or acted fraudulently, then I would like to:
1) Name and shame to encourage them to resolve it.
2) Failing a resolution, ban them.I'm also interested in purging the forum of sellers who provide no server or contribution to the forum in any form yet continue to spam the forum with their goods.
Anyhow... feel free to report such stuff to me, or to post it in this thread. Basically... I want you all to police this stuff, and for me to be the enforcer where applicable... and eventually once we figure out what to do with bad traders for me to make other people enforcers.

A strong reminder, no transactions should be done using PayPal "gift".To gift money using PayPal means:
- The seller doesn't pay 20p + 2% as a fee
- You lose any rights to a refund
- You lose any rights to fraud protection
- You lose any rights to a charge back (if you've been smart enough to use a credit card as the payment source on PayPal)
- You lose any rights to a verified business transaction
Basically... if you PayPal "gift" some money... the seller doesn't even have to sell you the item. They'd be within their rights to simply walk away without shipping you anything. You haven't paid for anything... you just "gifted" some money to someone.
Unless you're actually intending to gift money, using PayPal "gift" makes you a fool.
Anyone found demanding payment this way will be banned, and if any seller does do this and I am notified (i.e. a PM is shared with me) I will ban them.
Nearly all of the fraud that is attempted on this site is recognisable by the simple fact that they demand PayPal "gift".
Just say no... and point them to this post.
Sorry sellers, but you're going to have to pay the 20p + 2%, this is just the cost of doing business and have someone else be your payments processor.
