Alternatives to Ricoh GR please?
Even the GR stretches the definition of pocketable.
You could look at the Nikon 1 J5, Coolpix A (there are some discounts around) or the new DL 18-50. I've used the Coolpix A and it's very similar to the GR.
They are all a of a dated concept now that phones are so good. Unless you want RAW, the hotshoe, or the res for printing they're hard to justify based on portability.

Handling is completely different. I can't take an unblurred photo jabbing at my phone screen. With the Ricoh GR (which is basically my pocket/jersey 'maybe I'll see something'camera) I have it set up so I can basically snap a sharp photo and move on within 30s without having to piss around with fiddly touch screen nonsense. The Ricoh is particularly well thought through for exactly that kind of photography, mind.

Phones do have improved a lot, and for some kinds of pictures they're indeed very good.
They in no way replace cameras like a GR or Coolpix A though, for a lot of reasons.
