When I used to have a helmet light I found you had fewer cars pulling out on you from side streets because as you looked at them the light would shine straight at them.
I gave up on it though partly because I felt like a bit of a bellend cycling in London with a helmet light but also because I wasn't sure what the result on the helmet would be if I came off. I could picture it digging in and twisting my neck and also creating a weak point on the helmet.
