The Vitus 979 was the first production aluminium frame and was used to great success by Sean Kelly in the Tour de France and Paris Roubaix. They still represent very good value if you're looking for a lightweight road bike.

I bought this one to replace my Vitus because the seatpost was seized. However, before it arrived, my friend released the seatpost using penetrating oil, so this one is now surplus to requirements. Which is annoying.

I've only taken it for a quick ride after it was re-assembled after postage, and it was excellent.
