The in this street part of the clue was meant to be the definition, i.e. an address somewhere. I suppose you don't really need the definition part, given that you've got a picture to go with the clue and it's pretty obvious that it's a street somewhere. But if I'm going to write a clue I might as well do it properly.
It's generally preferable in an urban context to speak of 'streets' rather than 'roads', so that particular substitution would have been very easy for me (if I'd had a rudimentary idea what the clue pointed at). :)

V inconvenient, sorry! But I did once find an old A S Gillott bike in the tip down there. And it is almost Fred Grubb and Sam Holdsworth territory, I believe.

I tracked it down by googling the name of the Caribbean restaurant whose name is reflected in the shop window. I then had to dodge the double decker bus in streetview to find it. All this without leaving work.

You could extend the Kent Invicta Grimpeur 100 from this cash machine as a control into a 200. Next control London Bridge and Westerham.

I ride by it every day to work for a few years. As the nicely smelling bakery is 50 yards before I only saw it about four weeks ago.

Bro I don't think that counts...
Glad you got this, because I've realised too late that it was a duff clue; I forgot to supply information to get the "road" part of the solution.
Perform hymn about knitting technique in this street (8,4) = Spurling Road
Perform hymn about knitting technique = "S(purl)ing"...but there's no way of getting "Road".
