Dont google erd measure it. Often published erds can be wrong. I am not near my computor to check my records of rim erd's. I have a spreadsheet i am sure the cxp33 is there.

Thanks and agree, but in the context of my request I guess that would mean getting a sample of the replacement rim and measuring to check it's broadly in line with the published ERD. And if it isn't...arrgh!
Sorry to hear you are in wars :(

I know I have seen the answer to this somewhere on this thread, but are the DT RR 1.1 rims known by another name (or have been superseded by a newer model number with similar specs)? Which are they most comparable to?

I think that became the rr415. Mo some people thinkmit is a terrible rim they are wrong. It is a rim where you must not exceed 1100N spoke tesnion. I also think the rider weight lkmit is 80kg. I have hada set 28H on miche hubs built with lasers front and rear. I am was 80kg when j ride them (front rim worn now waiting for a rebuild) and they have been fine. It is actually quite a stiff rim and a good reliable wheel will result if you do not exceed its design limits.
The new dt swiss rr440 has the same erd a bit heavier a bit wider and i have out a 120kg on that rim he loves his wheels.

Dt swiss r460 (db) ! (which seems to be the answer to everything this week...)

http://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;product=123285;menu=1000,4,301;mid[69]=1;orderby=2From leonard spoke length calculator:
Mavic CXP33 (ERD is Mavic's Nipple Seat Dia 595mm+ 3mm for nipples) =
598 mmERD of dt swiss r460 = 596mm ....so around there (or build with nipple washers)

Get well soon

Hah amazing thank you!
And I have a real life pair of them right here, too, albeit already laced to some tasty hubs.

Then the kinlin xr22t and rt for the rear will work. A better rim in every way ckmpared to the r460. There is even a disc brake version.

Thanks.

I seem unable to find the KinLin rim anywhere? Have you got a link to a European shop?

Does anybody fancy measuring the profile of a tyre on a Stan's Alpha 340 for me please?
I'm about to pull the trigger on a build but slightly worried about tight clearances between my stays.
I'll probably run them with 23s but possibly with 25s.

If you need a 22t or 31t I can hold of them for you, but I would have to order in for you. Take a couple of days most likely. Where are you based? I'm in London.
@thecycleclinic also stocks them so perhaps that's another option.
-
• #4389
I do stock them me and tw both buy from the same place - a goldmine of goodies.
-
• #4390
They do have some really good stuff. I'd love to look around their place sometime. It's a NOS goldmine I bet..

My DA9000's on Archetypes need rim replacements. I'm trying to decide between going the same way again or picking up a set of HED Belgium +. Archetypes are £116, HED's £190.
Are the HED's worth the extra cost?
-
• #4394
Hard anadised are £116 and I'll be building with new spokes anyway. But I hear you otherwise. I'd heard rumours of a drop off in build quality on the Archetype's. Not sure how true that is, but it's got me second guessing myself.

The rumour probably relates to what Strada wrote.
I've never seen any corroboration of this, which is curious considering how many Archetypes must be in circulation.
Either way, Strada say they're happy with the quality again so that needn't be a factor in your decision.

• #4396
That's great, thanks for clearing that up. Another set of Archetype's it is then.

• #4397
The odd archetype is not round enough but I have had more problems with velocity rims. Even hed rims are not perfect which they should be for the money they cost.
It really is very occasional and is a problem if it happens for the wheel builder not the rider who has paid for the work. Maybe one in a hundred rims maybe not even that. I have counted three archetype rims out of the hundreds that I have bought that I had to reject.

@thecycleclinic you sound really knowledgeable, do you have any insights on Ryde Pulse Sprint rims, or the difference in quality or reliability between CX-Rays and CN 424 spokes? Gonna get a super light wheelset based on these but I'd like to make the right choice.

I want NJS spokes on a 24" (520mm ISO) rim. Are all NJS spokes double butted? Obviously cutting them so much will affect thickness, is this an issue?
-
• #4400
NJS spokes? Seriously?
Thanks :)
Goddamit I wanted to be lazy!
