Pastel blue colourways give me the boak.
Might dip-dye my 2015 lightweight jersey to stay hip. None of that 'smiling' bollocks though.

Sort of need a gilet. Is the Brevet Insulated just a bit more water resistant than the Rapha Gilet? Can't really work out if there much more difference apart from the look....?

if we take turns about, we'll probably be able to crack the pw for this

One has Polartec insulation, one has no insulation. Very different beasts. The insulated gilet is fantastic. It contains Polartec Alpha.

Seems like a legit good product, the brevet gilet.
Use a down gilet riding a lot.Wonder what it weighs?
-
• #24815
Like that a lot myself. Would buy.
Surely if you wear that on a ride you boil and your arms freeze off. What you do about that?
-
• #24816
Not a lot. I don't have any scales sensitive enough to weigh it, put it that way.
I wore it on the Willy Warmer with a pro team jacket and merino base layer and that was it. It was -4c at some points throughout the day and my torso was toasty warm.
I've also worn it in the rain for 3 hours with just a long sleeved brevet jersey and merino base layer and I didn't want for anything else. It doesn't get heavy when wet and kept me very, very warm. Ultan rates it highly and its what he wore on the transconti so... go figure. It's great.

Might treat myself to one of the new brev gilets. They look versatile.

• #24818
Yeah bet he does, I was looking at a PHD gilet but tempted by this.

Polartec Alpha has been around for a while now. Rab and other brands do Alpha-insulated gilets which are available for under half the price of the Rapha one:

Black or Grey? Black goes better with my kit but the grey looks nicer.
If not a little pricey. -

Meant to say, any codes?

The issue is, most of the climbing gilets don't fit so tight. My arcteryx one is good, but not a close fit. Even a small. And I'm not that small.
-
• #24824
Tightness is the new thing in cycling. Everyone is obsessed with it. Why?
-
• #24825
How can tightness be mentioned in this thread?
I'm glad you asked that, it's been troubling me....
