theres usually something in ebay if you manage to narrow the selection to 1" only. Sometimes ebay gives the option and other times it wont. Ive found out that the best search term is "threadless stem"

This does depend on the seller ticking those boxes while placing the ad though. I've found many don't bother.

Itm eclypse / 3ttt forge / deda 0 first model
Or use filter on ebay many sellers don't put the info in though...can be easier to search a specific model by name.

The old deda newton stems are pretty slim for a 1 1/8th.

hmmm wouldn't this cherubim have too much vertical movement without the seattube? paging @mdcc_tester

It's great, just the bar tape

Losing the seat tube is fine as long as you make the remaining parts stiff enough. There are several reasons why it's a dumb idea, but frames without seat tubes can be made ridable and safe.

3ttt forge is lovely too. Very hard to find under 120 mm length though... EBay.it often turns up old stuff.

That's true for any tube on a frame*:
No top tube - any step-through ladies bike
No chain stays - Hotta
No seat stays - Giant MCM
No down tube or seat stays - Lotus
No seat tube - Kestrel
No seat tube or seat stays - Softride / Zipp
No right fork leg - Cannondale Lefty*except the head tube perhaps?

If I'm buying a high price track frameset that would be used in a track environment (I know that we are at hhss) I wouldn't wan't just a ridable and safe frame, I would want something that performs to the (or better) level of money invested, that means that I wouldn't want a noodle when entering a 45 deg bank at 55km/h.

People buying Cherubim's aren't buying them for performance advantage. I doubt Konno built that for any reason bar his own amusement.

that's true!
should use 1" ahead
