I think I mentioned it before, but I got my choice down to either the RP1 or a Project - I managed to find an ex-demonstrator Project Debut Carbon (with the Ortofon 2m Red cartridge) for under £200 which sealed the deal so if you shop around you might find something.
If you can't stretch to either of those, the Project Essential is still good enough and can be upgraded quite a bit in time.
