You could try... I'd be surprised though.
Assuming the replacement neck fitted in the neck pocket, the scale length (nut -> bridge) has to be twice the length of the nut -> 12th fret. Anything else won't intonate. At least, that's the rules for a standard guitar, I assume it's the same for a baritone (which is just a longer scale length neck with more frets); don't know anything about basses...
Something like this would tell you where all the frets should be given your scale length.

so in laymans terms, how much will it mess something up if i put a bass neck on a tele but put 6 strings on?
