  • @_Leon I grew up there- couldn't get away fast enough, but now appreciate and understand the attraction. Ran Guernsey half marathon when I was 11 years old in a time 0f 1:45 (dined off that for 30 years).
P.S If you like Guernsey and Herm, you will love Alderney, difficult and expensive to get to, but consequently its a genuine time warp and totally unspoilt. Highest ratio of pubs to houses in the world, with circa 2,000 population and one policeman. Very much like the west coast of Ireland, very relaxed pace of life, live and let live.

  • I've got some 2xu tri shorts (perform maybe) that have really nice pockets in the legs, an iPhone easily goes in one and you can probably fit 4 or 5 gels in the other...

  • Is there maybe a list of shoes that orders them in terms of stability/cushioning/heel drop etc? Even by brand? Something like a chart where minimalist shoes are at one end and stability at the other and the models listed in that order? I tried on 8 pairs of shoes last night and with pretty much every pair I wanted to adjust something or other. I don't know if I'm fussy or if there's too much choice. Also WOW some shoes are really fugly (I know I shouldn't care but seriously...).

  • Sark is also meant to be lovely.

  • not that I know of, but this would be a great resource

  • @Sainsburys_Ed @hats @duncs

This list allows you to sort by drop, weight, stack (cushioning), and price:

  • @hats bit overrun with tourists in the summer and not many beaches, plus the whole no car thing is a bit misleading as everyone uses tractors! (Im biased though- Alderney is where its at!)

  • What do you currently wear?

  • @user49586 nice post about your manor thanks

  • This is amazing, thanks!

  • I've been wearing Adidas Supernova Sequence Boost for about 18 months and they're okay but I fancied a change. Turns out if you go into a shop with your old shoes they just find you pairs just like them, despite me saying I wanted something new and exciting.

  • next time walk in barefoot

  • They'll sell you some nice new Emperors

  • I'll go in my Ghostbusters slippers next time then.

  • There's a running series in Sheffield called Urban Nights. Tonight's race was called the Tipsy Sportsman. It used to visit pubs called The Sportsman but lots of them have closed down. Now it visits a couple with that name and some others. You get a map with all the pubs on it and choose your own route around them. Points, depending on location for each one and double if you have a pint of cask ale there. Time limit is 100 minutes. I managed 4 out out of 8 pubs and three pints and 3 minutes over time. The winner managed 7 pubs and 6 pints, 5 minutes under. He did look pretty fucked up afterwards though.

I'm getting kitty leg massage atm and if this keeps up I may not go to bed. Also I'm a bit wankered.

  • kitty leg massage

    Tell us more.

  • Take one recently fed cat, place on lap and scratch behind the ears until it does the stompy leg claws thing.

  • "until it does the stompy leg claws thing." kids call that kneading

  • Aye, and when they grow up they learn to call it stompy leg claws thing.

Gotta get down wiv' the adults innit

  • Sheffield know how to party for sure. Ace!

  • There was a barbeque with mulled wine afterwards.

Incidentally, these races are open to anyone to come along so if anyone happens to be up in Sheffield when they're on, they're welcome to come along. Entry is 50p (plus your own drinking/eating money).

  • Cool whens the next one?

  • Sixth, and final for this year, is on 15th March.
