Pulled the top end on Big Red yesterday for a routine piston. Reeds looked good, bore and piston both still in good shape, so will just be a clean up and put a new stock wiseco in there. Came apart relatively easy despite having been worked on by a gorilla at some point. One stud came loose, annoying the one landlocked by the cylinder casting - solved with judicious application of Kroyl. Cylinder a bit stuck on the rear stud and dowel, solved with liberal use of rubber mallet and heatgun.
New bits ordered and should all be back together to test next weekend. (And destroy what little remains of the back tire....) I really need new rubber. Fecking dirt bikes chew through them at an alarming rate - didn't know that.
