Lighter and softer material, longer arms, less baggy fit.

That is just what I wanted to hear, I have always gone a size down (small) on the classic to get a better fit but ordered the stealth in a medium to see what it is like.

So returned it and bought a Rapha Pro Team Aerosuit medium on ebay.

Sneer at Rapha and Rapha sneers back at you.

I'm wearing my Winsie tomorrow from the looks of the forecast.

before I buy a new one, has anyone got a Rapha Classic black jersey in small for sale?
-
• #24788
Im 181 and 71 with 99 chest and I my medium brevet is about ok. Somewhat relaxed fit but with anything underneath and/or in the back pockets tight enough
-
• #24789
It's quite a bit thinner and feels more synthetic. The fit is less flattering. Bit disappointed, but it may be more useable in summer.

How much stretch is in the fabric?

The main waist button fell off my brand new touring shorts. I know it's just a button but pretty poor QC considering they are £80 RRP
The original pair I bought in a sample sale 5 years ago never had any issues until they finally went threadbare!

Send them back - these things happen. Yours was 1 0r 1000 pairs that this has happened to.
Fairly common-place in production at this level.

I guess that's the issue, higher production = higher risk of production flaws. But then the brand does imply a certain level of quality.
It'll take me 5 mins to sew the button on properly myself but I will give them a closer look for any other suspect stitching. Just grumbling really, wanted to wear the fresh new ones this morning!

I tend to take the following view:
These things happen. You can get yourself all worked up about it and wax ecstatic about it, or you can sew it on and get on with things safe in the knowledge that these things can sometimes happen.
Production quality will suffer (only very slightly) when production quantities increase - it's a fact of life.

Nah, send it back for a replacement!

Or you can do what the Bear advises...

Surely price should also drop to reflect both of those factors?

There is stretch - similar to the brevet or other wool Rapha stuff. With the club jerseys the cut is better - more square on shoulders, can't see nipples etc. It's kind of between a wool jersey and a lightweight.

So what's Rapha Core about? Less nice, less pricey?
I'd guess they'll appear on rails (or neatly folded on shelves) at Kilver Court & CCMCR.
Less hassle dealing with postal returns if folks try them on first in archive store.
