• @andy_k it is super cool but i think i would prefer to have a seperate belt drive bike if i was that way inclined, surely switching that over to belt drive is pretty much a full rebuild every time? untape bars, change shifters, remove mechs/cranks, wheel etc? i guess you can do it...but why....?

    @Hulsroy would you have to still take links out the chain to get tension?

  • I was trying to explain the reasoning for the sliding dropouts on the frame, I thought the dropout allowed the frame to be split, turns out it's actually the stay that's split on these frames. Sliders do allow you to tension the belt, or run sscx if you want...

  • Yes, you would need a chain tool. But it can make a big difference when off road somewhere far away
