How? I am in London, they are in Warwickshire, my Dad is desperate for a working computer. I can't talk him through all the steps for a possible fix, it's too complicated.
This keeps happening, there is always something, normally easy to fix but I'm like constant tech support :(
My Mum loves her Chromebook because it just works.
Thanks for all the disk cloning recommendations. I used Chromium Reflect in the end - super easy, it just worked. Impressive for a free program, so thanks @Scilly.Suffolk
Another conundrum for you. The internet on my Dad's computer has broken, completely. I normally remote in using Chrome Remote Desktop to fix it, but I can't because there's no internet.
He wants to buy a new PC tower to fix the problem. I've managed to persuade him this is a bad idea as there's no guarantee something similar won't happen again. My Mum has a Chromebook and is very happy with it, plus the boon for me is no maintenance required, so I have suggested a Chromebox. Samsung Series 3 seems to be the one to go for as it has 4Gb of RAM and an i5 processor.
Any alternative suggestions though? I'm not an expert in this area but Chrome OS would do everything he wants to do and he basically finds PCs too complicated/too much maintenance.
