looking to build/buy some disc wheels for my new caad10 disc. I don't want to spend a huge amount and not fussy about branding as would desticker (think £200-300) so have been thinking about some superstars - £159 gets you "aero road" alex rims on some misc disc hubs weighing 1950g
however I could also buy some vision disc hubs for roughly £50 in the planet x sale and could then potentially build them onto some lighter rims - maybe chinese crabon clinchers - and not have all the horrible clincher sidewall melting on braking fears many others have. are there any disc carbon rims about which arent massively expensive?
Depends on what you mean by massively expensive. Light Bicycle are relatively cheap for carbon, around £220 - £240 for a pair of rims including shipping.
with duty ontop that makes the whole build quite expensive.. but not impossible so thank you. its a bit of an odd one, the market for "mid-tier" disc wheels doesnt really exist - hunt wheels do a pair for £350 at about 1495g. Again I must ask myself whether aero or weight is priority
