  • I get the impression that wound-ups, while not amazingly light, are a great ride. And they look top

  • Ah I wasn't aware of the ride. Price>looks>weight>comfort was the mantra behind the fork purchase this time though

  • I think the main benefit of wound ups is that they come in tonnes of variations including rake.

In terms of looks they're fairly hideous and bar a couple* of builds on the Internet nearly always look naff and out of place.

  • I concur, wound ups look crap.

  • all these people are bedwetters

woundups look sick, ride beautifully, are excellent.

  • belated new years update here.

It's still racking up commuting miles like a champ, just with some new stuff from santa (thomson + old slr) and some minor aesthetic tweaks. I rattle-canned the Deda logos off the forks and replaced with an appropriately silly sticker, and added some forum branding (double gold foil ftw).

  • Did you make the gold lfgss decal yourself? Or get it made somewhere? Interested party is interested.

  • No, that's the fine work of @mariofuckinghantous. And all profits from them go to the forum.

  • a few renditions over the last few months. There was the post-christmas/birthday one with moar nice stuff (last pic), followed by what it currently looks like for summer riding/deliveroo duties. Many thanks to @CTML for providing the final parts of the budget wide-bar setup

  • Planet X had a few open corsas with the tan walls left on sale, so this happened. Going from 23's to 28's was incredible...

  • First proper clean since the last post. Outdoor bike storage at uni halls allows for basically no maintenance...

Also dont think I mentioned the cog is seized to the rear hub :(. Cog spacers are indeed a bad idea. Thankfully the whole drivetrain is still in pretty good nick (bar the chain, which is getting binned), so I'm hoping new wheels won't be necessary for a while.

  • Have you tried to rotafix your stuck cog?

Always works for me. Put a rag around the bb shell though if you value your paintwork
