Seat post issue.
My new build is another corsa extra and I am slowly getting together a DA 7400 groupset.
Bought a DA 27.2 seat post and it won't even start to fit in the seat tube, everything I've read is that the corsa extra has a 27.2 seat tube . Any advice on what I should or can do at home or will I need to take it into a LBS.

Hi Dan, it won't fit mate because the seat tube diameter is 27mm! That's what I took out before I sent you the frame! I still have the Campagnolo group set and wheels if you want to go down the Campy route as an alternative, and depending on what you have already got in DA7400?.. We might be able to do a deal swap ect just send me a email if you need any more details Dan
All the best Regards Gibbo. -

Thanks for the comments guys! The paint job was done by Neill at Atlantic in bury Lancashire. It cost a small fortune but the results speak for themselves. Just waiting to find some Cinelli 66 -44 bars some if anybody as any in V.G.C? N.O.S Merckx bottle cages on route from Belgium and 7-Eleven water bottles to boot. Not sure on bar tape yet have some nice red white fad that I think will go nice??? More photos to follow next month when she's finished 😀

Still, a Merckx without Campagnolo is really not a Merckx....
The original 7/11 had 7400 if I'm not mistaken?Love the 600 tricolor groupset btw, have a Vitus 979 with a NOS gruppo
Also needs a white Rolls (I have a near mint one I took off my Vitus)

Damn, that's nice! White bar tape, surely? (I'd use simple Bike Ribbon.) Leave the colour on that lovely frame. Would be difficult to match the red properly anyway, I would've thought.

Yes I think I would have to agree with you on the bar tape! It's only going out when it's sunny if we get one this year 😎. Thanks for the comments Gibbo.

great bike!

Beautiful bicycle but I'm curious.. On the top-tube you have "7 Eleven Team".. I don't recall any of the team bikes from Merckx having identification-- I'm pretty certain, at least, with ADR, GAN, Stuttgart, Telekom, .. Given the water bottles-- if I also recall correctly the 7-11 team bottles contemporary to the Merckx were of a different livery-- and gruppo-- none got Shimano 600-- it clear that there is no intent on being a race replica but still..

Yes it is a beautiful bike thanks Edwardz, and you are right it's not a race replica.... I am a lover of steel bikes and just wanted to restore another classic racing bike That was near dead when I got it! And without being to Over the top I.e. Giving it the personnel touch which looking at it I am very pleased with the results!!! On to the next build a Team Paganini photos to follow later in the summer.... Cheers Gibbo.
