I replaced my spikes with M5 bolts, with the heads filed into a curved surface - imagine part of a sphere - giving adjustment to exactly fit the floor while retaining a low contact area. Seemed to work fine on quarry tiles and laminate floors without causing damage.
Gone back to spikes in the 'new' house (carpet, underlay, concrete floor) and not noticed any difference that can't be explained by speaker position and soft furnishings. -
I have these under the spikes on my Neats. Job done.
I finally got around to screwing the spikes into the speakers. Transformative effect on sound, hopefully not the same on the flat deposit from holes in wooden floor.
