Ah I wasn't aware of the ride. Price>looks>weight>comfort was the mantra behind the fork purchase this time though

I think the main benefit of wound ups is that they come in tonnes of variations including rake.
In terms of looks they're fairly hideous and bar a couple* of builds on the Internet nearly always look naff and out of place.

belated new years update here.
It's still racking up commuting miles like a champ, just with some new stuff from santa (thomson + old slr) and some minor aesthetic tweaks. I rattle-canned the Deda logos off the forks and replaced with an appropriately silly sticker, and added some forum branding (double gold foil ftw).

Did you make the gold lfgss decal yourself? Or get it made somewhere? Interested party is interested.

First proper clean since the last post. Outdoor bike storage at uni halls allows for basically no maintenance...
Also dont think I mentioned the cog is seized to the rear hub :(. Cog spacers are indeed a bad idea. Thankfully the whole drivetrain is still in pretty good nick (bar the chain, which is getting binned), so I'm hoping new wheels won't be necessary for a while.

Have you tried to rotafix your stuck cog?
Always works for me. Put a rag around the bb shell though if you value your paintwork
I get the impression that wound-ups, while not amazingly light, are a great ride. And they look top
