Thanks for the advice. There's actually a training centre just outside London which is meant to have better facilities than the universities in Manchester and Birmingham. Going this Tuesday, so will see what the crack is. I met one guy who goes there who built his own watch from scratch. Pretty mental.

good game, my friend who did my AP is self taught, now well regarded in his field, and he introduced me to a colleague whom he held in reverence, and said he was self taught also
