Everyone will letch at you, you'll love it.
Chicks dig a good letch, right?

It's perhaps not as challenging as being overweight but being perpetually underweight (and puny) can lead to potential long term health consequences too. I'd take the happy medium, which according to the NHS checker is almost 14kg away.

It's no fun being at the other end of that scale (BMI=28). Hoping it's going to be down to ~26.5 by the time of the Brighton Marathon and then below 25 for IM Wales in September. Expected marathon time being adjusted up almost weekly, ho hum.
Have to shift next Sunday's long run to Saturday so it means 69.5km in a 7 day window (23k long run, 8x1000m intervals, 11.5k commute, 24k long run) with a 180km cycle ride the following day. Ouchee.
In other news, stocking up on a few bits from wiggle (High-5 Isogels, running hand-bottle, cheap cap, and some other slvlss related bits) and noticed the parkrun branded stuff. MiniGB is going to be very happy with one of these: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/parkrun-kids-fox-graphic-tee/ She's itching to do another one...

^Personally I'd ditch that commute.

That might happen anyway since I've only just realised it's half term next week and I'm on holiday. Will consider a short recovery jog instead between the 23k long run and the intervals.

Has anyone suffered with soleus pain? Both my legs felt so swollen and heavy out of nowhere even though I didn't up the mileage
Wondering if I've just got shit tekkers

Just bought an OMM Kamleika jacket from wiggle, made from weird stretch material which is good as I went for small rather than medium size. Doesn't seem very wind resistant, or at least I feel the cold from the wind wearing it, which may be a function of it being so tight and not having an insulating air gap (?)

Beckenham place park classic. What age group? we had a couple of 5ths at my school.
Running with the Kenyans is a classic. One of those books, along with From Last to First, that i always head back to for motivation.

Yes Beckenham! 11 years old - Year 7 , any suggestions on a south London club for her?

Yes, Kent AC (based Ladywell). I'm the club secretary, so if interested let me know.

^^ hope you're up & at it.
I've woken up with heavy phlegmy cough on chest so no xc for me as effort today could well put 6th March race out too.
Off to buy all the citrus fruit things instead.

First parkrun in 2 months, have been doing loads of miles/intervals/etc and lost a few kg so...
2 seconds slower than my last one. Bah. Still 2 minutes away from last year's best.
Not worried about it, it was a great run through boggy conditions (as it always is out of summer). Just need to get back into the routine of doing it every Saturday. Legs feel great now though; all ready for the 23k tomorrow.
Hope all the citrus things do their job...

Mine inflamed just above the achilles 2 weeks ago. In the end i rested it for a week as stretching/foa. Rolling seemed to inflame it more. Ran once on it with run dem tuesday before last but have had flu for a week now so my marathon training is officially now in the shitter. Thanks to flu. For the second year in a row. Cuntsticks

Cross country today, end of the season. Surprised myself by having a cracking run on a really nice fun course.

Longest run. 23.09km. Fastest HM too (never raced one so that's quite easy but have done 4 or 5 in training before). Left ankle a bit sore so about to soak it in a cold bath then foam roller it. The run went by quite quickly thanks to the cricket on the radio.
Looking forward to an afternoon of watching/listening to sport on the sofa.
Sacked off my run home 2km in yesterday with calf pain. I don't think it's anything serious - I spent ages foam rolling last night and it feels a bit better today (as in, I can walk without an obvious limp and can go down stairs again). Great start to marathon training but I'm still weirdly excited about it.
Two questions!
Firstly, I want new shoes - where is good in London that isn't Canary Wharf?
Secondly, I'm going to Istanbul next week and am reading conflicting advice about running there (ie. anything from "it's great, you'll love it!" to "wtf are you thinking, it's horrible and smoggy and everyone will lech at you"). Anyone got anything to add to this?
