I roll through greens/ambers. If it's red for the stoker, that's the stoker's business...

That sounds like a good plan. Good opportunity to try out some of our new kit too!
We should definitely make this happen. -

The memory of riding up Ditchling on the tandem last time is burned into my mind so strongly I could never pass up an opportunity to do it again.

New stoker for mine. -

I missed out on a tandem locally... but there's that horrid looking one in Bristol going cheap (too good to be true price, with a billion watchers).... seed's been planted. Must. Own.

Kinda bought one, from Cholsey. Did the naughty and put cash in the hand of the auction-site guy.
Pashley headbadge, a lot of touched up corrosion points, but overall seems solid. 105 levers up front, Suntour group, mixed parts. 26" wheels. Thinking whether I can put some 700c wheels on it, there's oodles of space.
Gonna be a while before it's seen around London, gotta give it a once-over. Still, hilarious riding it solo.

Am I in for some cracks and tube issues?
Yea I thought the forks looked a bit weird, but I'll run with it til I come across some strong cheap pair if/when.

Am I in for some cracks and tube issues?>
Probably not however keep an eye on where the TT meets the head tube. I probably got unlucky. Really don't miss carrying this up the Greenwich foot tunnel steps when the lift was out of service.
Heavy as sin but fun bikes. -

It's lighter than the 50's Claud Butler I nearly came home with the other day, but only just!
Thanks, I'll keep an eye there, and elsewhere. I'm guessing by the clearance I can easily swap out the 650's for 700c's, maybe replace the front brake for a regular center-pull.

How does the cable-routing work for the lower rear rim-brake? Is one of the brake levers running a dual-cable?
-
• #363
No, that isn't a typo!
Notwithstanding the fact that I would struggle to collect it, live in a first floor flat and am not sure I could rustle up a stoker, I am that tempted...

What a bargain!

M25 J14 you say? I could pick it up while you're contemplating how to deal with it. It's crying out to be fixed.
-
• #366
Both are center-pull, the cable runs along the top and then diagonally from the front to the lower brake, and a wobbly line along the tubes for the rear/upper brake combo

• #367
not sure I could rustle up a stoker, I am that tempted...>
I'd happily stoke that for you!

• #368
You're running out of excuses!
BUY IT! -
• #369
Do it
-
• #370
Even happy to store it in my storage locker in Deptford for you.
-
• #371
I'd stoke that
-
• #372
Incredible. Buy it. Run it as a fixed gear. Own the best bike in all of London Town. Store it in my cellar.

Buy buy buy.

This is internet bullying.
It would be awesome, but the practicalities are overwhelming.

Badly listed, badly photographed, potential bargain.
Traffic lights? Pfft. We haven't got the braking power to stop for traffic lights.
