They're bloody awesome

Aside from the weight, I think these are good training wheels for the price within internal 18.9mm

Good deal no?
Don't be led astray by discounts on FSA products, their whole business model is based on setting the RRP at about twice what the stuff is actually worth when judged against competing products from other manufacturers. This is done to fool people buying OTP bikes that FSA substitutions for better known brands are an upgrade, when in fact the OEM price is what's driving the component selection. With £100 off, they are OK, but don't fall for the idea that you're getting a £220 wheelset at a discount, you're getting a £120 wheelset at no discount.

There is nothing good about this wheelset. FSA made the rim too large and it's virtually impossible to get tyres on and off. I have scars on my hands to prove this.
Plus they're heavy.

Dad bought the rs81 c35 shimano wheels. They feel crazy light, but I am at odds on why the rim is shaped so weird, must be the laminate around each nipple.
The price has shot up £70 by the way, so wiggle had to do a post-purchase online price match vs Merlin

Shoot, thought it was too good to be true. I was thinking to get a wheelset for my brother, but superstar components wheelset seem to shoot up in price lately =/

I never knew this, is this purely for FSA or is this the same for the rest of the manufactures?

Fulcrum & LG is bang on the buck, you know what the hubs are like? aka pretty much like novatec hubs? ;)

No idea, they look good on paper.

It's mostly FSA, they are the main brand whose sales are completely dominated by OEM sales but also bother to advertise to aftermarket customers. People like Tektro and Novatec are in a similar position in terms of the split between OEM and aftermarket, but historically their aftermarket sales have only come about from independent wholesalers buying at the OEM rate and setting their own mark-ups. FSA was a brand created explicitly to give TH Industry a premium look, before the information revolution made it much harder for people to hide the true nature of the industry :-)

I would like decent lightish wheel to replace my Daytona Hub open pro build. What is the best bang for the buck wheel for around £600? It will be a summer wheel set. Should I go with Chinese Carbon?
These seem good value for money? http://www.probikekit.co.uk/bicycle-wheels/rwc-50-carbon-clincher-wheelset/11200079.html are they? or would I be better going for a pair of bullets / comics, or second hand zipps.

Anyone brought any Chinese carbon from wokecycle:
Not sure about those spokes but the price is tempting...

I bought 2 50mm U shaped carbon rims, Novatec SL hubs and 44 CX ray and it came to about £400 built at my LBS. They weight about 1450-1500g, so quite a lot lighter than the probikekit ones.

I like them a lot, bit screechy with certain pads
They look great. They stop well. In mamil land there's little else to care about.
