Mine came with a normal bracket, shown on steps 10 and 11 in the instructions: https://www.ridepdw.com/sites/default/files/product-help-files/309_fullmetal_fenders_online_instructions.pdf

The 30mm are different, it seems

Yeah, cable ties on £75 guards is crap, but I think my bike will have threaded holes in the right places so hopefully not needed in my case.

The rear on the 30mm fits with the stays as normal then a plastic bracket with a rubber band for near the chainstay bridge. They only come with the z-bracket for the brake bridge annoyingly.
The front has a tab that comes up through a slot and is riveted in place and that is designed to be held to the crown by a caliper brake.
I think I'm going to get one of those bridges from SJS (the one they have is 35mm but I can either fold it in more or trim the excess) and try to get a nut and bolt assembly from a cheap/old pair of calipers so that I have the right size/length to go through the drilled fork crown and brake bridge. Can't remember if I need half moon washers or not but will check tonight.
Anyone got an old set of dual pivot, allen nut fitting calipers hanging around? I only want to butcher them for the nut and bolt so doesn't matter if they are shit.

Or would black button head machine screws look better and have the mudguard tab behind the fork crown? It's a matte black bike
-
• #2182
Or even better, does anyone have a spare one of these?
Postage is the same price as the part
-
• #2183
Might as well buy GB and have superior fitting and last longer for half the price.

From experiences, most LBS likely to have spares due to drilling under the seat stay bridge instead of using that.

You work in an LBS, don't you? Can you sort me out, guv?

Unemployed, need to find one where I deal with less customer, an area I always struggle massively on.

Will look in my mudguard bits.
Someone will have one.

I definitely have one for a 45mm sks for the reasons ed gave. Just need to find it.

I drilled my 30mm pdws so I could attach them to the chainstay bridge. Nice and secure. Still able to use the elastic band, although maybe I should chop it? Meh.
I like these guards, but they're not £70 nice.

I have some of those. PM and I'll post to you.

• #2192
I have found one for 45mm guards. Based in Canary Wharf during the day if that's any easier than posting.
-
• #2193
That's cool, I'm sorted but thanks anyway.

• #2194
Oooh get her.
-
• #2195
I've got some GB long 40mm and 2 leather flaps to fit tonight. 3 hours?
What size tyre did you manage to fit under these? Reckon they'd take a 33c?

Ref post 2056 a month ago.
My SKS commuters are doing the do, most happy with them so far, still haven't trimmed down the front stays over hang but not having a problem catching them with work boots on.
A dry bum is priceless :) -

No chance. I have 28's on 23mm rims and it's very close.

Need some mudguards for a bike that has eyelets, and I've seen these for a ridiculously cheap price:
http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/FSSLSMG700/stronglight-s-type-700c-mudguard
With a 25% discount, they're under £12 (for the 35mm version), admittedly plus postage.
Look just like SKS ones to me. Does anyone have any experience of them?

Planet X has the GB 40mm long for £27 right now

Anyone want a brand new set of GB 60mm short for £15?
Planned to put them on my wife's commuter and whilst I measured the frame space, I failed to take into account the brake calliper.
Ordered from Planet X, not really worth sending them back as postage will take most of the refund.
Ignore me, just watched the installation vid, holes and cable ties, fuck that. I'm not bodging on £75 'guards
