In that link, the picture of the unfitted mudguards has the z-bracket but the fitted picture shows them on a disc braked bike with seemingly no retention at the bridge. Unless they have a tapped hole underneath the brake bridge and a hole in the mudguard, but I'd never be able to do that neatly enough.
