My OH keeps pressing me to buy a pair (having been once), but my thinking on buying is:
You can get good deals for decent skis (around £50 a week for skis/sticks/boots on a 'Gold' package)
You don't have to transport them to the resort
If there are any problems, the shop will sort them
You don't have to store them in your cramped London abode
You don't have to learn anything new to do with fittings, maintenance etc
You don't need to worry about being overtaken technology-wise as they get older
If you're going one week a year, and are just looking to cruise down reds and blues, it seems to make no sense to buy?
