I have had a look at the nearby streets on and off. Certainly no traffic armageddon, though the junction South out of Marchmont Street seems a bit busier with a lot of queuing cars going South on a cut through to Russell Square.
Also they have re-allowed the left turn North onto Judd Street which is a big problem as it clashes with the major Eastbound flow of cyclists going home.
