Self contained unit for sitting in between our kitchen / dining room.
Bluetooth connectivity.
Ability to go loud and ideally more bass than the standard Bluetooth speaker (that's what attracted me to the Deepblue)

Hmm, go and listen to a few if you can. These all in one units tend to fall apart sound-wise when the volume goes up.
Have you considered powered Active speakers. Ok, not all in one, but all the wireless electronics and amp incorporated into the units and will offer better sound.

otherwise Cambridge Audio Blutone 100 OR AIR 200 (for bigger sound)
Not saying you Shouldn't buy the Peachtree, but maybe go and listen if you can.

I've got this, obviously DAB radio with bluetooth connectivity,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Roberts-Blutune-Bluetooth-System-iPhone/dp/B008RY6I3Ebut it's loud enough, and not wallet scorchingly expensive,
or the version two up from that, which is closer to your budget.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008R89PS0/ref=psdc_10395621_t1_B008R870GOthis is expensive, but looks kind of future proof, with dlna etc
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00NCR4LL2/ref=s9_dcbhz_bw_d0_g23_i1_shor this which is cheaper then the revo, but still has wi-fi and bluetooth connectivity

hd25 are fine certainly got punch , tend to tire your ears out and are quite tight , hd25sp rather good too you can angle them anyway you want ( i usually have mine hanging off one ear resting on my shoulder) but i have replaced every part of these headphones over the years apart from the plastic band + and the drivers . they also used these headphones on concorde flights "property of BA" stamped on them ......

When does yours arrive?
I'm trying my best to resist. Just tidied up my cables and relocated a speaker last night, so maybe I need a new amp too? -

OK so I have to use a hire car (someone fuxxored my car whilst parked outside my house). It doesn't have a cd player! Gutted. Can't really be bothered to figure out how to get my phone to connect to the car's computer thingy. And I bet radio 3 & 4's not even stored on it cos garage monkeys only ever tune in commercial radio - which to me is all unlistenable.
Bah I'm really starting to hate this century. I want to throw away all the computer rubbish in my life and this phone and grow some veggies and cook them.

A thing of beauty. Why can't people design nice looking HIFI stuff anymore?

I will weep and not be able to afford. -

Nice. I now want to take mine apart. You are prob a chap who knows, if anything needs replacing on mine what would it likely to be? ie, what deterorates first? Think mine have been running for the last 30 years and might need a refurb.

Yes.

Was tempted to buy a Dieter Rams Snow White's Coffin and be all cool and funky then realised I should really just find something much cheaper and with better sound, si there much about in turntable land anymore? All new models seem to be converters or "retro look"? I've not been paying attention enough for the last few years.

Wrong chap here I reckon, I've barely had mine running for 30 hours yet let alone 30 years so nothings fallen off yet!

Now that looks serious. Not sure if I can sneak that into the kitchen claiming it cost a couple of hundred quid....
Have never heard, but for £300 there's much better options. What's the requirement?
