• What’s up Cannondale thread. So, these Caads keep looking at me. I fancy something light (and cheap), to take to the mountains and to possibly do some crits at Leigh valley. I currently ride a condor Acciaio with Centaur which I like a lot, I think it weighs around 9KG – I weigh around 70, but should get down to 66kg for ‘the season’

I’m kind of caught between two build options I could get an off the peg Caad 12 with either 105 or Ultegra. But what I seem to fancy more is a second hand Caad 10 built up with Centaur, I think I can do this for £500ish. I would then buy these probikekit.co.uk/bicycle-wheels/rwc-50-carbon-clincherwheelset/11200079.html?variation=11200081

With the Caad12 I would need to buy wheels and this option has the added bonus of being able to swap wheels between the two bikes. The draw back is that I’m stuck with Campag 10 speed which is being discontinued. But I guess if I decide to go 11 speed it would be easy enough to run the carbon wheel with a campag cassette on Shimano/. I should also add that I don’t particularly like the idea of having campag and one bike and shimano on the other, what I like about 10 speed centaur is that campag feature of being able to shift multiple gears.

Is anyone on here running a 52 caad or similarly geo’d dale with 120-140mm stem? Can I have a go?
