It would also reduce pressure on the northern line. Unfortunately, anyone commuting in and out of Zone 1 from further south than Stockwell is likely to take more than 30 minutes - meaning the journey would get charged an extra £2 each way and it would cost £6 for the day (including the £2 usage fee).
Boris bike as far as Stockwell on the way home. Two things:
1) The Boris bike network needs to extend further south. Is that going to happen?
2) Taking the commute slowly is an absolute revelation. Comfy upright position, nice low-effort spinny gear, not actually much slower overall due to red lights. No race mentality creeping in. Must stick a bigger cog on my commuter.
