I found this very good http://www.amazon.co.uk/Understanding-Exposure-3rd-Photographs-Camera/dp/0817439390/ if you're looking for a gouide to taking pictures and what the different settings do. It's not specific to the best way to use that DSLR though.

There is actually a Dummies Guide to that camera I think. Don't buy it though. Read the manual and visit to The Photographers Gallery instead.

I'd meet / invite someone over for dinner that knows his shit and is able to explain the fundamentals of SLR photography.
Beyond that read the manual to get a grip on that specific camera's ways / were to set certain things, but again - I'd always prefer to meet with someone rather than read books. -

If you/ they are new to photography, get a cheap manual lens. Forces you to learn what does what and what affects other bits. Aperture, ISO, exposure times, etc. No relying on auto or the approximation there of.

OOH, nice. What's the B&O device in the background?
I'm considering one too - the only real hesitation is the real world handling. I've only ever used one instore and I found the smooth round body a little awkward to comfortably grip. RX users out there - how does it work in real life?
