Brixton cycle?
-

Yes, if you sign up for their newsletters it normally gives an outline of the two options. I'd go for the longer / faster I reckon. Coz i think i'm fast (and long).
@amey my motivation and mojo is a bit precarious and could do with trying something different.
@HoKe very very good point. I always seem to forget about them -

What kind of distances / pace do Brixton do? I see them around at the weekend when I'm in Kent a fair bit and it always seems to be quite a mixed group
-
• #55
clubs are for racing, you should give it a go since you fancy a change
-

Have tried a bit of racing and it wasn't my bag TBH. Didn't find it hugely enjoyable. Plus I'm shit at it. Crits aren't for whippets... I need mountains then I start getting more competent!

True. You need like minded like pace group.
-
• #58
clubs are for more than racing. Social rides, scheduled training, pub nights, parties, network etc
-
• #59
You can do all that without joining a club anyway
-
• #60
ok

One of the most friendliness club I've been with, always smiling and bantering (hurting my feelings) really depends on the numbers but usually there is a fast/long distance group with a slow pace social group for people who aren't confident riding in a group before.
Give them as shot.

17mph average road stuff, from my contact with them. They didn't seem interested until I had gears and foot retention, and when I asked about track they just suggested HH velo meets.
How am I supposed to get in a club to meet peeps?!

Cycling clubs are for twats.
-

Rollapaluzza was probably as good as it got for me with cycling clubs. Hail the aussies.
-
• #66
Something of a generalisation.
-
• #67
That's what a twat would say.
-
• #68
Events just organise themselves.
-
• #69
Probably not as much as you. Plus I'm not willing to pay about 5k to join a club
-

Is this Cadence or Brixton?
-
• #71
See you on Sunday.

They split in to groups and there will be a social paced group. Email club.secretary@brixtoncycles.cc and pop along for a ride to see how you get on. There will be backstops and they're nice and friendly.

• #73
Already done! Thanks for the info though

HH is probably as social as track gets. Are you accredited?
If so, enter track league under LFGSSCC (free membership) and start talking to people. If you get on with people, ask about their club, what they do. -

Are you looking for purely social riding to break up training solo? Or for training as part of a group?
