Cosmics would be perfect as they're ostentatious and recognisable but really not that good

What don't you like about them? The old-style ones with the carbon fairing are a bit skinny for 2016, but the aeros are not bad and they're tough as old boots. Not sure about the newer 40C, but they're way outside @Ste_S budget anyway.

I really can't see how the aeros can be particularly good, unless with a 20c.

If you could see the aeros, nobody would need to go to Aerocoach :-)

The old Roues Artisanales test had the Cosmic Carbone SL (basically the same as the current Cosmic Pro Carbon apart from some hidden changes to the alloy rim) at about 2W worse than a Hed3 at 50km.h^-1
