Just had "the call" from Evans.
The 60% off CAAD10 Disc is real.
Soon....

If I have a supersix evo hi mod frame and a rotor 3df crank (w/30mm axle) what BB should I use? Never used anything but ultegra before so this new world of complicated bottom brackets is scary.

Normal PF30. Assume SSE is PF30 not BB30 but it won't make much difference. You'll need some spacers on either side of the axle as the 3DF axle is longer than a road BB30 axle.

Cheers - do you know what spacers I'll need?

Two 11.5mm apparently.

Either side of the frame?
edit : I have a praxis bb30-shimano adaptor BB that I was planning to sell - I'm assuming that's no use?

it comes with 24mm ID bearings. 3DF is 30mm, right?
Inverse shim time

I'm betraying my lack of knowledge on the subject, but what is an inverse shim? Sounding pretty complicated. 3DF is definitely 30mm but can you expand on what I need to do a bit more?
-
• #3385
You need to fit an inverse shim to the 3DF cranks so they fit the Praxis BB.
Simple.

It can also work for headsets and stems etc.
Probably the most useful item there could be.

It just hit me why i couldn't visualise what an inverse shim is. Probably to order some elbow grease to make sure it fits, too.
Thanks for all the help, chaps!

Sorry :)

Might just sell the rotor cranks and find an ultegra chainset. Cheaper and easier to fit, it would seem.
-
• #3390
I've got a 6800 compact chainset going spare

Getting there - no bars or gold rings though.

got a build list for your caad disc? can you run rim brakes on a caad disc frame? tempted at that price but dunno much about discs so wouldn't know where to start with a build
Stop tempting me...I only just bought a Rose to do up as a nice weather weenie...
Although, the CAAD COULD look outrageously cool....hmmm
