Rodgers has a proven track record for bringing teams up from the championship and keeping them in the promised land. I'm pretty sure he'd get on well with your chairman.

He's a good championship manager.

and plays the style of football derby fans want

Brilliant. I'd also like to see Harry Redknapp on that list

I'm mostly amused by seeing Steve Kean on other betting sites at reasonable odds.

Who do you want instead?
There are two or three names on that list who could do a job at Derby and get them promoted

I wish I could insert the gif of Tim waving his arms around just prior to Leicester's comeback against us, but sadly I'm too luddite.

If you want boring football, with very little passing, or attacking, then Garry Monk is the man to get.

Rodgers was sacked by Reading after taking us to the Championship bottom 3. His Championship credentials amount to 1 OK season with Watford, and getting Martinez's Swansea team up through the playoffs.

Could do a lot worse than Moyes

• #124163
And Gary Neville could be back soon too.

Steve Clarke... might be able to get the best out of Blackman...

Nigel Pearson is the best option on that list, but I'm concerned that none of the managers mentioned (barring Rodgers) are particularly attacking inlcined as is "The Derby Way" according to the chairman. Pearson's Leicester side were great in the Championship, but limited in the prem, so he might be the best option for the now.
Rodgers is a fucking sandwich short of a picnic. I don't think his ego would mix well with other egos above him at the club.
Phillips hasn't held a managerial position, so wouldn't be any better than what we've just had in my opinion.
The unfortunate truth is, there is no ideal candidate available out there that we can realistically get. We could probably afford whoever we want, but whether that person would want to come to the Championship and steady a sinking ship and possibly damage a reputation is another thing.
I'd love to see Igor Stimac back, but don't think he's the right man right now. I reckon it'll be Pearson on a short contract.

Actually Paulo Sousa came between came between Martinez and Rodgers. He sorted out our defence, as under Martinez it was great going forward, but hopeless defending. How he's changed.

It just seems crazy, after a fairly solid stable situation. We've gone "top of then championship" mentally. "Throw money at the problem, results now! A manager makes the difference not stable coaching staff and a solid environment"
-
• #124169
Errrr, last 3 games apart Martinez can still not organise a defence!

• #124170
Sarcasm.

• #124171
Surely Kevin Phillips has another 5 or 6 seasons as a player first.
-
• #124172
And I see you've gone from taking one of our old managers, to showing interest in our one-time potential American "investors". They're a bunch of cunts, our supporters trust vetoed a deal put forward. Avoid.

Re: Derby, Jose's still available, no?
-
• #124174
We want to play attractive attacking football...
-
• #124175
Any particular reason why they are 'cunts'?
Get all of them and do management by committee.
